Barbara Galazzo
My work is a celebration of color, a kaleidoscope of movement. I use the discipline of precise glass fusing and the artistry of flowing lines and shapes to create pattern and motion. The work uses simple aesthetic vocabulary to hint at broader concepts and ideas. It is my desire to make beautiful objects that inspire personal memories in their owners as colors and shapes are reflected into, around and through the work.

Glass is a seductive medium. The movement of the glass and the vibrancy of the colors pull you into a hypnotic state and demand that you look at it in awe. My inspiration comes from the vivid colors themselves, patterns in architecture, textiles, shapes, and even my daughter’s drawings. After so many years I am still in awe of the capabilities and possibilities in creating beautiful glass.
