About the Gallery... An aesthetic adventure in contemporary fine art and fine craft, the Idyllwild Gallery of Fine Art is located in a majestic natural setting. Representing 150 fine craft artists, the gallery is known for a focus on color and the dramatic displays of American and Canadian craft in glass, clay, metal, fiber, and jewelry. Hand made tables, mirrors and seating in rich saturated colors add colorful accents for the home. Abstract watercolors complement and enhance the collection. The Idyllwild Gallery of Fine Art is located in the beautiful, new Village Centre in the heart of the mountain resort town of Idyllwild, California, a scenic ride from Palm Springs and the desert communities, San Diego or the greater Los Angeles area. Chris and Bruce Maxson have owned the Idyllwild Gallery of Fine Art since 1998. Fulfilling a lifelong dream to do something for which they have great passion, the Maxson’s opened the gallery upon their return to the mainland from Hawaii. The gallery has been recognized nationally as one of the Top 100 American Craft galleries in the United States. Locally, the gallery received the Essence of Idyllwild award from business colleagues in the Chamber of Commerce. As co-founders of the Art Alliance of Idyllwild the Maxson’s have devoted energy and time to ensure that Idyllwild grows as an art community, Visitors to the gallery will be joyfully greeted by their two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Kala and Reggie. Both have been voted the Cutest Dogs in Idyllwild over the years. Despite the honor, they most look forward to seeing their friends and getting tummy rubs. |
